The HiPEAC conference is one of the important events in Europe for computer architecture, it took place in Manchester from Monday, 22th to Wednesday 24th of January. The M2DC Project was involved with the poster sessions, the industrial exhibition and the HeLP-DC workshop.
Michał Kierzynka from Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC) presented M2DC at the European Project poster session. Explaining the overall project idea of bringing Appliances directly to the customer.
Which means, providing not only the new hardware shown at the M2DC booth, but deploying a whole infrastructure for heterogeneous processing platforms like FPGAs, ARM server processors and GPUs.
The M2DC booth at the industrial exhibition displayed the working outcome of the project. The first prototype of the new M2DC Server was shown as well as the first applications that are accelerated by the System Efficiency Enhancements (SEE) developed within the project.
René Griessl from Bielefeld University presented “#M2DC - Heterogeneous microserver orchestration for cloud, IoT and HPC” at the HeLP-DC workshop. Giving more detailed inside of bare metal deployment for novel compute architectures.
